![]() The Petrify status is the source of the Ultima Weapon and Petrify glitch. Inflicts moderate non-elemental damage and petrify. Monsters with petrify set are just killed, and cannot be healed. Petrified targets cannot be attacked by conventional attacks only those that are specifically designed to be able to hit characters with petrify can be directed at them. Petrified characters keep their HP score, but can no longer act, nor can they Cover for other allies. This is the first game in which petrify and death can be inflicted at the same time, albeit only by Exdeath.Ĭharacters with petrify set are considered 'dead', and a party of four statues equals a Game Over. Some enemies, such as Objet d'Arts, are stone-based, and items and magic that would normally cure the petrify status will instantly kill them. This status will remove all other statuses except Toad, Mini, Pig, Blind, Silence, and Float. Counts as a KO for determining "game over". A character inflicted by Petrify cannot act, and is not a valid target except for effects that can remove the status. The status will make the characters appear to be made of stone, and monsters inflicted by Petrify will be removed from the battle and treated as KO. Tellah's Esuna fails to reverse the spell, but the twins are healed by the Elder of Mysidia. The status itself immediately turns the victim to stone.
